The Eastern Mediterranean restaurant Evo will open its doors at 4:30 p.m. in the Hyatt Place Hotel, 443 Fore St. in Portland. The second restaurant from Prentice Hospitality Group, who also own The Chebeague Island Inn, Evo boasts a dramatic modern design "with dramatic spires of shimmering glass and shades of ochre, amber, and natural wood," according to a press release. There are 53 seats, mostly counter-style with stools; traditional tables are on the mezzanine, which can also be used for private parties.
The chef de cuisine is Matthew Ginn and Sarah Smith is the General Manager. Brandon Hicks, who also oversees the Chebeague Island Inn, is executive chef. On the menu: "the flavors of local Maine and the Levantine regions, fusing elements from Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Armenia, Cyprus, Turkey and beyond," according to the release.
Evo will be open for dinner Tuesday - Saturday, 4 p.m. - 1 a.m.
